Stories of Hope for CHD

We at Bright Heart Foundation feel that HOPE is at the heart of healing for our Congenital Heart Defects Community.  We realize that while the all-important CHD research continues we must continue to find ways to “enrich the everyday” that we are experiencing today along our journeys. During #BrightHeartMonth we shared various stories from our adults and children with CHD to inspire their peers, healthcare team members, and the families by the hospital bedside of their little ones.

Through HOPE we help heal hearts!

3rd Annual “Hockey Has Heart” for Heart Healthcare Heroes

For our third annual “Hockey Has Heart” in partnership with our long-standing supporters at the Nashville Predators Foundation, Bright Heart Foundation granted over 200 free tickets to our Heart Healthcare Heroes to enjoy a night out at a Nashville Predators Hockey game.

Before the game, we were able to team up with two other members of the TN CHD Coalition, The Brett Boyer Foundation and World of Broken Hearts, to provide a reception at Casa Rosa to thank both inpatient and outpatient pediatric cardiac healthcare workers for their dedication to our CHD community.

The Nashville Predators Foundation proves over and over again that Hockey Has Heart for our CHD community!

Heart Healthcare Heroes Lunch for 100+ Pediatric Cardiac Healthcare Workers

One of our favorite things to do is say THANK YOU to our Heart Healthcare Heroes for their ongoing work within our CHD community.

Thanks to our partners at Hunt Brothers Pizza, we were able to show appreciation to our incredible Heart Healthcare Heroes by providing lunch for over 100 of them.  Appreciation goes a long way to help them stay positive and feel supported as they spend their days supporting us.

American Heart Association Collaborates with Bright Heart Foundation

Since #BrightHeartMonth in February 2021, Bright Heart Foundation has been working on behalf of the Congenital Heart Defects community to establish a partnership with the local and national offices of the American Heart Association.

We are pleased to announce that the American Heart Association will now provide up to five camp scholarships, or “Camperships”, to their heart camp session for the dates of June 20-24, 2022 to the children of our CHD community in Tennessee.

Since 1996, the American Heart Association has sent more than 2,580 children between the ages of 7-17 with congenital heart defects to Camp Boggy Creek, a magical place like no other. Located on 232 acres in Lake County, Florida (45 minutes north of Orlando), Camp Boggy Creek is uniquely equipped to give children all the fun of a traditional camping experience with the added security of a state-of-the-art onsite medical facility to ensure their wellbeing.

In addition to the medical facility, the camp’s 44 buildings include 16 camper cabins, a dining hall, a swim center, a stable and small farm, a sports and recreation center, an arts and crafts center, and a theater.

In 2022, AHA will support campers for the week of June 20-24 in this exciting opportunity. Travel allowances will also be granted to the families of the campers that are attending.

What a another great way for our kids to live beyond their diagnosis of CHD!

Spots are limited, so register your camper today at the link below!
