October 1, 2019 – Bright Heart Foundation has been continously honored to bring pediatric comfort items and therapy tools to the babies/ kids that are inpatient and on their journey with CHD at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. We know first-hand, that the hospital can feel like such a lonely and sterile place at times. By bringing in these extra goodies, the nurses can utilize them to go that extra mile to comfort these wee ones and their families. In the PCICU there are newborns all the way up to young adults who are in various stages of fighting to survive another day of CHD and the complications that come along the way. Some of them are inpatient for a few days up to years. As we are about to enter this upcoming holiday season, consider donating to Bright Heart Foundation so that we can continue to provide support to these parents that come to hospital day after day away from their families to be by the side of their very sick child. When they show up to the baby’s room and see a sweet bow in their little girl’s hair, a toy in her bed and a cozy blanket comforting her –it provides HOPE to them all!
